For some time the Summerhill Active Retirement Group has been aware of older people around the area, who because of lack of transport are unable to attend our Centre.

With help from the Millennium Fund and local community support we purchased a 16-seater Mini-Bus with facilities for wheel chairs and easy access to people with a wide range of disabilities.

The bus took its maiden voyage in July 2000 and now takes the group on regular outings such as picnics and barbecues. It has made a huge difference to the lives of our members, especially our disabled members, who can now be collected from their homes and are included in all of our activities.
